The moment it touches,
it’s on.

Put a Magnect mount in the ceiling once. After that, changing the light is just lifting it up: the magnets find their place and pull it in, and the power connects as it seats. No electrician, no tools, ten seconds.

The mount hides in the ceiling and the light sits flush: from below it looks like any built-in fixture.

  • 10sTime on the ladder to change a light. Hold it up to attach, give it a turn to release.
  • 0₩Call-out fee when you change a light. Today an electrician visit is ₩70,000–100,000. With Magnect you pay for the light only.
  • 1×One electrical job, ever. After the mount is in, nobody touches the ceiling wiring again.
  • 7×Magnets hold seven times the light’s weight (214 N). If they ever let go, the safety ring catches it.

Safety

Change it yourself.
It still won’t fall.

Anything on a ceiling only has to fall once. So we designed the catch before the hold, and the product goes through KC safety certification and load tests before launch.

1Held twiceIf the magnets let go, the ring holds

Four magnet pairs pull with seven times the light’s weight; if they release, the light drops 3 mm onto the mount’s safety ring. We are preparing a test at four times the light’s weight for an hour.

2Live only when seatedNo live parts you can touch

With no light attached, fingers cannot reach the power contacts. Power connects only once the light is fully seated.

3Certified, patentedThree patent filings · KC certification planned

Two Korean patent applications and one PCT filing; launch follows KC safety certification in 2027. The ceiling-side mount has no electronics, so there is nothing to fail.

One mount. A growing family of lights.

We start with the M1 in 2027. The M1 Wood, the P1 pendant, the F1 ceiling fan and the V1 bath fan come after, all on the same MB-1 mount.

Our story

It started with one ceiling light
at my parents’ place.

When a light dies you get the ladder out and connect wires, or pay someone to come. A bulb screws in; why not the whole fixture? The founder, a patent attorney, designed it patent-first and is building the prototype now.

First reactions

"If this came out,
I'd switch right away."

We change them ourselves now, and honestly it's far too much work for what it is. It's not one or two rooms.

Hotel owner, Cheonan, Korea · pre-launch interview, 2026

Living alone, there's no way I'm up a ladder holding a fixture and connecting wires. The part I liked most is that you just hold it up and it sticks.

Outside Korea?

Can I get one in the US?

Not yet. Here’s the honest picture, and how I plan to get there.

Built for Korea first

The first version runs on Korea’s 220 V and goes through Korea’s KC safety certification in 2027. It isn’t made for US or Canadian wiring, so please don’t try to install one there.

North America, through a partner

For the US and Canada, I want to license the design to a lighting maker who can build a 120 V version and get it UL listed. If that’s your company, let’s talk. If you just want one at home, join the list and I’ll tell you when it happens.

Why it’s worth it

In the US, having an electrician replace a light fixture costs $586 on average, and roughly $160 to $1,000 depending on the job. With a Magnect mount in the ceiling, changing a light costs you the light and a few seconds.

What’s different about it

There’s no plug to line up. Hold the light near the mount and the magnets center it and pull it in, and the power connects as it seats. If the magnets ever let go, a safety lip still holds it. And there are no electronics on the ceiling side, so there’s nothing up there to wear out.

Launch updates

Want one? Get on the list.

I’ll email you when the prototype video is up, when we launch, and when there’s news for your country. That’s it. No spam.

I’ll only use your email for Magnect updates, and I’ll delete it whenever you ask. Want to tell me how many you’d need? Use this form ›

I’m looking for pilot sites and partners now.
